Adults who do not have a high school diploma are encouraged to enroll in High School Equivalency Diploma classes (HSED). Iowa Central Community College is offering a new session of classes in Jefferson.
Classes will begin Tuesday, July 17, at the First United Methodist Church and are held regularly Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8:30 pm. Use the south entrance to the church.
Orientation will be held July 17 and July 19. Interested students should plan to attend one of these evenings.
After successfully completing tests in language arts writing, language arts reading, social studies, science and mathematics, students will earn an adult high school equivalency diploma.
The multiple choice tests measure a person’s ability to read and process information, solve problems, and communicate effectively. The battery of tests is developed by the ETS®, Educational Testing Service. The high school equivalency diploma is issued by the Iowa Department of Education.
Students may register the first day they attend class. Adults 17 years and older who have not completed a high school degree are welcome. Persons who want more information can call Susan Doyle at 515-574-1263 or email her at doyle@iowacentral.edu
